In the Spring of 1963, four young men entered a Liverpool studio for a photo shoot. Their lives were about to change beyond their wildest expectations.
The four were of typical Liverpool stock - unaffected, funny, and very laid back. Their names were John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The Beatles!
The images, for an advertising campaign for Lybro Jeans, were produced the week that the fab four first hit the number one spot. In fact it was at that shoot that John Lennon announced to the band that they would be number one by the end of that week.
The photographs formed the basis of line drawings that were used in the final leaflet, resulting in the original images not being seen by the public for more than forty years.
Because these images are no longer for advertising but are in fact part of Pop history, we have left them unretouched, so the backgrounds and the box Paul had to stand on for the group shot, are now visible.
These five rare photographs are an historical record of that day when the most famous band in the world were photographed in a Liverpool studio to advertise jeans for a Liverpool company. A truly unique day!
